Research Recruitment at Bruyère

Recruitment of Bruyère staff, students, volunteers, residents, and/or patients for external research may be allowed under certain conditions. Bruyère, its Research Institute, and Research Ethics Board (REB) reserve the right to decline recruitment activities.

To recruit Bruyère staff, students, volunteers, residents, tenants, and/or patients for research where the research study:

  • is not conducted by a Bruyère-affiliated researcher,
  • has Research Ethics Board approval from another REB, and
  • where no research activities other than this recruitment will take place at Bruyère

The following recruitment options may be permitted:

RECRUITMENT OF STAFF, STUDENTS, AND VOLUNTEERS may involve either self-referral (distributing a poster, or other recruitment materials), or may involve recruitment assistance from Bruyère, such as asking managers/supervisors to notify their staff/students/volunteers of the study (whether by email, in-person, or other means).

RECRUITMENT OF BRUYÈRE PATIENTS (INPATIENTS OR OUTPATIENTS), RESIDENTS, TENANTS, AND FAMILY/CARE PARTNERS may involve self-referral only, such as posting recruitment materials in applicable clinical areas, whereby the individuals themselves will contact the study team if interested.

To initiate a request for recruitment at Bruyère, contact the Bruyère REB at REB@bruyere.org and provide:

  • Your recruitment materials
  • REB approval letter from the REB of record
