Investigating the Impact of Aging on Balance and Walking While Multi-tasking

Bruyère Research Institute is looking for volunteers aged 65-85 to participate in a study investigating walking patterns and balance when doing two tasks at once. This will take place at the Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital in Lower Town (43 Bruyère Street) and take about 45 minutes. Who is eligible:

  • Adults aged 65-85
  • Able to walk 10 meters without physical assistance or gait aid
  • Ability to carry a glass of water in one hand
  • No musculoskeletal or neurological conditions, or pain or injury impacting walking ability

 

What to expect:

  • Come to one 45 min testing session at 43 Bruyère Street
  • Answer demographic questions
  • Partake in an easy walking and balance test
