Congratulations to Dr. Peter Walker from the Bruyère Research Institute, winner in the health, science and technology category for Radio-Canada/Le Droit’s Personality of the Year award.
Recognized for his expertise as chief executive officer and scientific director at the Institute, Dr. Walker’s accomplishments impressed the judges, particularly his role in obtaining the prestigious World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Knowledge Translation and Health Technology Assessment in Health Equity designation. “The objective is to create a critical mass of people who can improve care and the [health care] system in which we find ourselves,” said Dr. Walker as he explains his vision for the research institute.
Moreover, Dr. Walker is a professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa, where he was also the dean of the faculty from 1995 to 2006. During his time as dean, the medical school developed two additional undergraduate programs, one in French and the other for Aboriginal students. Bravo to all winners! Your hard work and accomplishments are inspirational!
