Sterilization Technician

$26.210 to $27.826 /hour, plus a competitive benefits program

Function Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Procurement and Logistics, this role is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing in accordance with the guide of the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC). This role is also responsible for oxygen manipulation, and cart replenishment and deliveries.

Required Qualifications

  • College diploma in Medical Device Reprocessing.
  • Valid Certified Medical Device Reprocessing Technician (CMDRT) Personnel Certification from the CSA group, MDRAO or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working in an environment where infectious devices were properly decontaminated, processed and sterilized.
  • Fluent in French and English (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement.)

  • Knowledge of a “carrousel system”
  • Knowledge of scanning system
  • Knowledge of different oxygen systems
  • Knowledge of a sterilizing system
  • Knowledge of safety procedures for handling contaminated materials
  • Ability to organize and manage the inventory of reusable devices
  • Ability to handle many stressful activities at one time
  • Good analytic skills
