Function Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Admissions and Patient Flow, this role is responsible completing essential data entry in the Electronic Medical Record. They will work collaboratively with referral sources to ensure accurate data has been received.
 
 Principle functions include but are not limited to:
 
  • Ensures data integrity of the demographic information in Meditech and registration standards are met.
  • Wait List Management for hospital beds of Bruyère.
  • Registers new referrals in Meditech and creates pre-admission package.
  • Ensures that all aspects of the files are complete prior to admissions (accommodation request, insurances, and demographics).
  • Ensures accuracy of waitlists.
  • Ensures patient photos are uploaded to Meditech.
  • Receives and actions ADT and ALC orders.
  • Registering new admissions and preparing patient ID bracelet and booklets.
  • Responds to inquiries and provides information to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
  • Assists and educates the referrals sources and public in following the proper steps to be admitted to Bruyère depending on their needs.

Required Qualifications

  • College certificate in related field or equivalent combination of experience, education and training
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience in a hospital, ideally in patient registration, admitting
  • Experience in Data entry into software systems

  • Judgment in priority setting in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office/EMRs as well as experience using data systems).
  • Fluent in French and English
