Bruyère Health masking update
02/24/2025
On Tuesday, February 25, Bruyère Health will be updating our masking practices.
After careful consideration, we have made the decision to return to mandatory masking and our masking zones across our sites to combat the spread of infection in our community.
Bruyère Health will now have two masking zones across our sites:
-
In red zones, such as clinical spaces, long-term care resident, and waiting areas, masks always need to be worn by everyone working, learning, visiting, and volunteering on our sites.
-
In our teal zones, or non-clinical areas, masks may be removed in cases where it is possible to have one metre of physical distancing.
This means loved ones visiting patients or residents in our hospitals and long-term care homes are asked to wear a mask, available at our entrances, during their visit.
As always, we will continue monitoring respiratory illness indicators in the community and adjust our masking practices in response.
